Week 5's class did not commence due to the Wesak Day public holiday, so our lecturer arranged a replacement class on Friday, May 17 to go on a field trip to the KL area. We started off by meeting at KL Central Market at 10 am. Our lecturer then took us to Chinatown for brunch and we were free to look around in Central Market after as well as explore their variety of shops. We enjoyed seeing a bunch of traditional crafts at Central Market. Next, we visited the National Textile Museum at 12 pm. After the museum visit, we went to a fabric shop where our lecturer shared her fabric knowledge. Through this trip, I had learned a lot about fabric and Malaysia's fashion history.

In week 6, we started on our assignment 2. Our lecturer gave us a briefing about the assignment at the start of the class and demonstrated step-by-step on the method to sew a collared shirt with calico fabric.
